We drove for a couple hours yesterday to go and visit friends of ours. Our last pastor relocated to a new church home, and we finally got to go and visit with him, his wife, and children. We have missed them. They took us around to look at the area where they have moved. It was beautiful. The beautiful park and river walkway they took us to was breathtaking. The temperature, being near a lake, was cooler than we were ready for. We ended up borrowing jackets to stay warm.
I was glad, not only to get away and get a break from our normal routine, but to just get to to to a church service and enjoy. So often my husband and I are teaching. We love reaching children for Christ, but have needed to take a break for awhile. Having a Spirit-filled service without having any demands was refreshing.
I miss my friends. Laura misses her friends. We know they are only a couple hours away, but that couple hours mixed with life can feel like a lot further. God moved them on, and the church there needed them. I am grateful for technology that allows me to be able to keep in contact with them so easily. Seeing them again, even after five months, didn't feel like five months once we were together. We had so much to share. Their children had grown. It was a great time with friends. I look forward to being able to visit with them again.
