Our local church about a block from my house throws the best VBS I've ever encountered. They go all out. The kids from all over town show up to participate. The church plans all year for this community outreach, and they do an amazing job. Props and sets are painted, volunteers are trained, and a lot of prayer happens. I have been amazed at how many children hear about Jesus every year.
My children have gone every year since we've lived here. My youngest, Megan, is now old enough to be a part of the preschool part. She has come home both days they have gone so far and told me all about the fun things she is doing. Jasmine has been by her side the whole time as a helper.
I've also had Jasmine taking pictures. The first she forgot to take the camera. She made up for it the second day with lots of amusing pictures.
I'm not sure, but this may be Laura's last official year. After this, she may be a helper. She has such a good time that I hate to think of it ending for her.
These two sisters know how to ham it up for the camera.
The sailor hats are awesome! Each year the girls get a tshirt from VBS. This year they will get a tshirt and a hat. Wow! What a great way to remember all they did and learned about Jesus at Vacation Bible School.
The craft for the older kids yesterday was decorating their own scopes. It was neat.
Megan made her own boat.
Then she played with play-doh.
I'm sure this will be a VBS the girls won't forget anytime soon. I'm also sure that more pictures will follow as they go throughout their week.
