Bread and Water
I made two loaves of bread today. Not very interesting, I know, but since one loaf was eaten up in less than an hour, I consider that a success.
I cheat at making bread. I use my bread machine to make the dough. I suppose the kneading is therapeutic, but it saves me time to have the machine do it while I am working with Laura or doing other chores. I let the bread re-rise after I move the dough from the machine to the bread pan. I like making whole wheat bread, and it tends to be more dense than store bought or white. Having it rise again seems to help it be more fluffy. (No, that is not a technical term.)
I also have been trying to cut back on my pop intake. I know how unhealthy it is to drink soda. I drink way too much. So, today I have been trying to drink more water. I have my water bottle by my side.
To hear that my focus for the day is bread and water sounds a bit like jail. I don't mind. I've had fun making bread. As for the drinking water, I would rather have a diet soda. I just found it odd that I am making bread to save money and because it is so much healthier than store bought, yet I am filling myself with diet sodas. I think that God convicted me, cause the irony was not lost as I bought the whole wheat flour yesterday but had a diet soda waiting in my van.
