We began studying Laura's favorite Bible story, Esther, this week. With the study of Esther we are delving into the Jewish holiday of Purim.
We decided to make a Gragger. A gragger is a noisemaker that is made for Purim and the retelling of the story of Esther. Each time the name Haman is spoken in the story, Jewish children use their noisemakers to drown out his name.
I love studying Jewish holidays. I have thought about studying them more extensively. They are such a reminder of the rich history of God's actions with the Jewish people. Many of the holidays also represent Jesus.
Laura took a long time decorating her Gragger. She was enjoying making it pretty.
