Dearly Loved Grandma

Grandma at Christmas
Today was supposed to be our first day back for homeschooling. First, I knew things would be delayed when I ripped my last contact lens a couple of days ago.  I had to run to the eye doctor today to have a new exam.  While getting ready, I received word that my grandma had fallen this morning and was on her way to the ER.  Unfortunately, she broke her hip and will be laid up for awhile.  So, while Laura will get some bookwork done, we aren't able to do a full day.

My grandma is in her early 80s.  I love her dearly.  She is such a wonderful woman, such an amazing Christian.  I think of her in pain, and I want to cry.  I am praying for her to recover.  However, she has such severe health issues that I know my time with her won't be forever.  I just love her so much, and I hate to think of the emptiness she will leave in our lives and in my heart when God calls her home.

I am blessed to have had my grandmother for so long.  She is a small lady, but a huge person in our family. She is one of those people that, while not perfect, is just good.  Everyone loves her.  They want to be around her.  She is positive and has a deep love for Jesus.  She prayed for years for her children and grandchildren to come to the saving knowledge of Christ.  I am so glad her prayers haven't gone unheard.

My grandmother has been a blessing in my life in many ways.  I pray she recovers.  I thank God for giving me such an amazing woman as a model of a Christian woman.
