Weekly Wrap-up 12-12-08

The week started out well, but then my health issues made things kind of rough at the end of the week. In looking over my planner, however, I think we got quite a bit accomplished.

MATH - Laura finished 7 lessons plus 4 extra worksheet pages and some extra work with money, time, and fractions. We are still on track to begin multiplication after Christmas. Right now we are working on subtraction with borrowing. Laura gets a little confused when we get to borrowing from the hundred's place after we borrowed from the ten's place. She'll get it though.

SCIENCE - Laura finished up with space and the solar system and is beginning to study light and shadows.

HISTORY - Laura is still studying the Colonial Times. We are starting to read about George Washington, which will lead to the Revolutionary War. Laura finished reading The Courage of Sarah Noble.

READING - Laura made progress this week. She finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Frog and Toad All Year. Frog and Toad all year was kind of easy for her, but she enjoyed the book immensely. We began to read Strawberry Girl together this week.
LANGUAGE ARTS - Laura did well. She only missed one on her spelling test. She studied verbs and commas this week. She began Wordly Wise, but she finds it challenging.
WRITING - In handwriting Laura learned cursive L,M, and N. She began a Daily Journal for writing.
BIBLE - Laura is reading about the 10 commandments. She also read Matthew 13 and 14. She finished Daisies with the Giving badge. She began Prims with the Helpers Badge. She also read 4 lessons in Leading Little Ones to God.
Slow and steady wins the race. Laura is doing well. We are still having our struggles getting started early. Maybe I shouldn't stress. Between my health issues going on right now and the toddler that likes to stay up late, getting up early just doesn't seem to be an option all the time. We still get most of everything done every day. Once in awhile we miss something, but we don't miss anything we can't make up the next day.
