Yesterday we had a tragedy in our family. We were at our Pastor's home after church when we received word that my husband's father had suffered a heart attack and passed away. Quickly, we raced to the hospital to be with my mother-in-law and family. We are very saddened by the loss, but are comforted because my husband's father is a Pastor in love with Jesus. We know he is in heaven right now with our Savior.
I expect it to be a long week. Laura and I are taking school day by day. We are doing school today. I sent her sisters to school. I think it's easy to keep busy for now. My husband and his brothers and mother are trying to iron out the details of the funeral today.
My father-in-law was a wonderful man. He loved God, America, and his family. He had suffered from numerous health issues. He had type 1 diabetes for 40 years. A few years ago he had bypass surgery. He'd also been in a major car accident due to his diabetes. In that accident he had lost an eye. He had glaucoma in his other eye.
He was also a caring man that time had mellowed. He was a joy to be around, funny and light-hearted. Our lives will never be the same without him.
