MPact Girls - Our Wednesday Nights

Laura is a Star. Our church uses the youth programs MPact Girls and Royal Rangers for boys. We just restarted the program after several years of doing a combined Kids Church. Laura is in Stars, which is for 3rd to 5th grade girls. The MPact Girls Program consists of Rainbows (for preschool boys and girls up to Kindergarten), Daisies (for Kindergarten Girls), Prims (for first and second grade girls), and Stars. There are also middle and high school programs that we hope to adopt in the next year or so.
I have at least 3 girls every week, with others that come sporadically in the Stars program. Once a month or so the girls earn a badge based on what we are studying. This month we just began Women of the Old Testament. Last night we learned about Ruth. All the girls seemed to enjoy the story. We talked a lot about the traits Ruth showed, like how she was hardworking, polite, and how she was devoted to Naomi and God. We talked a lot about the character traits that we see in Ruth that we should try to make sure we have in our own lives.
Wednesday nights are a lot of fun. Last month we worked on the Visual Arts badge, which was nice when trying to supplement Art at home. Laura worked with clay and made a collage.
We really enjoy this program. Laura has fun and is learning so much about the Bible with this program.
At home Laura is working on getting the badges for Daisies and Prims. She never got the opportunity to get those badges, so it's neat that the program allows her to go back up to two levels and earn the badges. She can eventually achieve her bronze award by going through all three programs. I am using the Daisies and Prims for our Bible lessons this year.
My main concern is that, while it great that she learn about the Bible, I want her to love Jesus. So I always try to show her and the other girls just how these stories in the Bible and the lessons we learn just show us how much God loves us and how amazing he is. I hope the lessons are getting deep.
