I got a "new" camera yesterday for my birthday. I have been helping my sister with her photography, and she decided to give me one of her cameras as a gift.
I spent spurts of time today playing with my new toy. I have only played a bit with ISOs and different settings. Up until now I mostly dealt with my little point-and-shoot canon. My sister has been showing me different things as we go to different events for jobs.
I had a lot of fun playing with different settings. The kids were nice enough to humor me, even though I could see them sighing and trying to hide groans.
Megan was the most enthusiastic... for a bit. I realized quickly that I have quite a bit to learn about the settings. I learned that what looked good on my camera screen looked different once downloaded to my computer. Many of the pictures were way too light.
This is a learning process for me, and I look forward to learning all I can. My husband is a little afraid I will break him with lenses and accessories. I probably won't be purchasing those items for a bit. My sister let me borrow a lens for now.
I have always loved taking pictures. Up until my sister took up photography, I was the one in the family with a camera always in front of her face. My sis is extremely talented. It's odd to be learning from my little sis, but sometimes that is just how things work out.
