Crazy at the Zoo

It seems that every time we make a trip to the zoo, it's a hot, summer day... and we never plan it ahead of time.  It started as a  trip to the grocery store.  While on the way, my sister called and said we should head to the zoo while we were in the area.  We met at the grocery store, bought a small picnic lunch, and then headed to see the animals.
I am so glad that the zoo, while small, is also free.  It provides a chance to go as often as we wish.  The girls love it every time.  The petting zoo is their favorite part.

Megan petting the goat.
The baby goats were a great interest of my daughters this year.
Even Tasha thought the baby goats were adorable.
The Butterfly Garden is simply beautiful.
Megan loved watching all the butterflies flutter around the gorgeous flowers.

While not technically a field trip, it was fun and educational.  The girls had a great time.  I always laugh at how much they love to pet the animals.  I grew up on a farm.  The scents and sounds always remind me of my childhood.  Of course, we never had a llama.
