The blizzard that has been talked about for the last three days has begun. The heaviest snow is expected later this evening. The kids and I are hunkered down, prepared to wait out the blizzard. I have candles in case we lose electricity. The kids, including the oldest in college, did school today even though the local public schools canceled. I expect to lose internet because it is always the first thing to go out. So, while I will take pictures if I can of the storm, I might not be able to post them for a day or two.
My husband is supposed to go into work this afternoon. He is planning on being stranded for a day or so if he can make it in at all. While it would be nice for him to be home in the warmth with us, he knows that others he works with live further away than he does and won't be able to make it in at all.
This is the only time I wish we had television. However, I can still watch many of the weather reports online. It really wouldn't matter if we lose power or the cable or satellite went out. I wouldn't be any better off than I am right now.
