Trimming the Tree

After the adventure of picking a Christmas Tree, we headed home to set the tree up and decorate it.  First Laura tried to decorate her sis.
We added our lights.
We added garland.
Then we began to add the ornaments.
We let the children do this.  Mom usually hangs a few of the ornaments, but the job is usually for the children.  Dad sets the tree up and helps with lights.  Mom takes pictures... and decorates the rest of the house later.  The kids do the tree ornaments.
Tasha is tallest, so she gets the high ornaments.
Megan gets the unbreakable ornaments.  She LOVED the shiny ornaments.  She kept kissing them.
It was sweet to watch all the girls pitch in to help their three year old sister.
Laura takes the job of tree decorating very seriously.  She is determined that her tree look beautiful.
Kim just tries to spread the ornaments out so they aren't bunched in one spot.
Our tree is not a classy tree with carefully selected, matching ornaments.  It is a huge collage of ornaments bought throughout the years, hand made ornaments, and the kids art project ornaments (these are my favorites!).
In Christmases past I would dress up the girls in Christmas colors to decorate the tree.  I thought it looked more festive.  Well, through the years, I am just happy that all my kids are together to decorate.   I am ecstatic that they love to decorate the tree together.  They are making precious memories, and that is so much more important that whether they are dressed in festive colors or not.
