Moved to Set Godly Goals

Planning has weighed heavily on my heart this week.  I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to spend all my time planning... even though sometimes I enjoy it.  I want to find a program or programs that I trust and just stick with things.  It may cost me a bit more in the long run to have the planning done for me, but that is worth it if it enables me to keep my focus on what is important.

I have some praying to do.

First and foremost I have praying to do for goals.  I feel like the goals for my homeschool have changed a little.  When I first started I had this goal that I was going to give my children a similar education as the public school except with a God focus.  Now, that isn't enough for me any longer.

I have seen what happens.  I have watched the struggles my older daughters have had over the last year from the public school education they've had.  I've also watched as countless friends of theirs have walked away from their faith.  I've seen how hard it has been for so many youth in their late teens and early twenties.  I have walked that path myself, confused between worldly arguments and what I thought the Bible said.

Can I prevent my younger children from walking the same paths?  Well... probably not entirely.  They are going to have struggles.  However, I want them to love Jesus.  I want them to have a heart for the lost.  I also want them to receive a quality education that will enable them to serve Christ effectively and efficiently.

I am in the process of setting goals, not just for my homeschool buy for how we want to live our lives.  You see, it is easy to say we love Jesus, but are we really stepping out in faith in what he wants for us?  Are we prepared to reach others for Christ?  If we aren't reaching others, how can we teach our children to reach others?

My home is a mission field.  God revealed that to me a few months ago.  Now, my desire is to walk obediently in how God wants to use me in this field.
