Food Pantry Saturday
One of the greatest things I think we can teach our children is selfless service. Every month my family serves at our church food pantry. We've had months lately where we have left Megan with Dad at home. However, she is getting older. She wants to help. Even if it is only in spurts, she likes handing the grocery items to the people that come to the food pantry. She smiles, and they smile back. She lightens up the days for many of the senior citizens that come though. We have to be careful to keep her busy so she doesn't get in the way. However, she learning to serve from a young age. She may not understand what she is doing or why at this age. She only knows, at this point, that she puts things is people's boxes and they tell her "Thank You".
