With a snow storm on the way and warnings mounting up, I went to the store today to get supplies. School got done without me, and I haven't checked it yet. My homeschoolers don't get snow days, so I'm sure that the coming storm won't keep them from their work. I'll get everything checked this evening.
Sometimes getting away feels good. I know the forecast is predicting several inches with blowing and drifting. My oldest is going to be stuck at a friends. My husband will be stuck in the town he works. I will probably be housebound for the next couple days at least. I decided today that I would get our needed supplies for our house out of town.
I took my uncle to his doctor. I met my father for lunch. I went to a bigger grocery store that actually had the washing soda for my homemade laundry detergent. (I've been using a generic oxyclean.) I got the needed groceries. I visited with my grandmother who is in the hospital with pneumonia.
My girls are quite independent when they need to be in their lessons. If I have a day when other things have to get done, I can go get them done. In a couple years I'll have a beginning reader and my time may not be so open. Until then, I have a bit of freedom when I need to be on the go.
