Learning About Dew

Megan has spent the last few weeks learning about the desert in science.  She is reading One Small Square, Cactus Desert.  Today she completed an experiment about why a cactus would have dew on it on the morning.

Megan got to play with ice, water, and food coloring to discover why dew forms.  She then did a secondary experiment with her own breath and a cold window.  We have all breathed our warm breath on a cold window.  Megan learned why it forms condensation.

She loves her hands-on science in Heart of Dakota.  She gets to learn about many different animals and where they live.  She loves Nimals so much that she is constantly telling me all about the animal facts she learns.  Her aunt purchased her a Zoo Books subscription, and I think she memorized the magazines.

We read from the level three Christian Liberty Nature Reader a couple times a week.  Megan will sit and watch nature documentaries for hours!  She loves learning animal science.  I am glad she can use a program that teaches her science in such interesting ways!
