A Christmas Morning Redo

We finally had Christmas morning... a few days late.  The flu seems to have finally left our home.  We always have my girls on Christmas morning, a tradition I cherish.  Unfortunately I know that the time will come when that will end.  Eventually my daughters will begin having children of their own, and will create their own Christmas morning traditions.

The flu hitting our home meant my oldest two girls couldn't come over for presents with their sisters.  Being diabetic, something like the stomach flu could put them into the hospital.  One daughter is also still recovering from major surgery.

My older girls came over tonight, as well as my son-in-law, soon-to-be son-in-law, and a family friend. It was nice, being able to have them here.  The excitement I see on all of their faces was worth the wait.

The presents were nice.  We don't always have a large amount of money, so each gift has a lot of thought put into it. My budget is strict with so many to buy for, so I look for nice things or gifts I know will bring joy: The owl scarf for my oldest, the Tim Hawkins' tickets for my other daughter and her fiancé.

But it was even more enjoyable being together. With my older two, their schedules are busy.  It's often difficult getting all my girls in one spot.  I cherish the times I do have with them. I don't take any of that precious time or my daughters for granted. I know that God may have other plans for them one day that may take them far off.  I'll have to accept that, and trust God. I'm not going to waste the now.
