Cousins and Friends!

They are cousins... and amazing buddies.
Kaden & Megan - cousins and friends
Every time my youngest, Megan, and my nephew, Kaden, get together, they have such an awesome time!  They are three years apart in age.  Megan is the youngest of five.  Kaden is an only child.  Both are quite ADD.  But together, they are such great friends.

I worry that one day they won't be as close.  But for now, they create such awesome memories together.

My nephew lives an hour away from us.  Megan and Kaden don't get to hang out all the time.  However, they make up for it when they are together.

My sister took this picture over the weekend.  Kaden had baseball tournaments.  Megan went with my sister to go see him play.  Afterwords, their imaginations took them away.  Dressed as a pilot and an astronaut, they had a great time for hours!  Megan was sad to leave.

I remember having similar relationships with my cousins when I was young.  My grandma had a farm, and the adventures we had were endless.  My uncle was only a few years older than me, so we were more like siblings at times.  We had a fort in Grandpa's corn crib, complete with an intercom system.  We dug tunnels in the snow drifts in the heart of winter.  We swam in the old horse trough.  We ate mulberries until we were sick and our hands were stained.  We played kick the can at night with the hill as base.  The days there were mostly carefree, with Grandma's homemade cooking as an incredible bonus.

I long for my children to have something similar.  With her attentive older cousin, Megan gets a glimpse of that.!
