Building A Boat

Megan has been reading about Noah's Ark.  Her lesson yesterday included a project where she was to build a boat out of aluminum foil.  Megan was running late in getting her school work done yesterday since we took off a couple of hours for her to attend Story Hour at the library.  By the afternoon, Mommy had to get dinner started.  Jasmine was enlisted to help with the project.
Jasmine excitedly jumped into helping Megan build a boat.  Together they worked steadily until they had a very cute creation.
They were proud of their little boat!
Jasmine then read the pages in Megan's science, history, and Bible that went along with the lesson.  Megan loved being read to by her big sis.
Lastly, the girls floated the boat in water.  The idea was to see how many small, weighted objects they would need to sink their boat.  We didn't have enough of one object, so we had to use a variety of coins, keys, and other random objects we could find.  The boat didn't float for long under the weight, but it proved that Noah's Ark must have been VERY well made to withstand the weight of all the animals!
