Megan got the opportunity to go to cheer camp this past Saturday. My friend's daughter is a varsity cheerleader for her school. They were holding a cheer camp for the elementary children. Megan was very excited to participate! The group, which consisted of about 45 girls, got to cheer with the cheerleaders during half-time of the JV basketball game.
She had a good time. This was definitely a new experience for her. Since she is not in a public school, Megan isn't usually in a group setting that large. She also has never been in front a crowd of people bigger than our church congregation. She was a little nervous when she first went out there with the other girls, but she did a great job for a five year old girl's first time in front of a group of strangers.
Of course, it wasn't only strangers in the crowd. We had a little crew of fans to cheer Meggy on in the bleachers. I (Mommy) was there, as well as her grandma, her aunt and uncle, two sisters, and my friend with the varsity cheerleader daughter.
