Laura is learning the history of great Christian leaders right now. She is studying Ignatius, Polycarp, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Eusebius, Athanasius, John Chrysostom, and Augustine.
She had a project that she worked on to help her remember the names, which are somewhat difficult to remember. Using construction paper, she cut out eight churches. On each church she wrote one of the names of one of the Christian leaders.
Then she ties yarn to each church and hung the paper churches on the wall where she will see it regularly.
Laura is in the 7th grade. However, using Ace, I placed her about halfway through the sixth grade history. She studies World History last year from Creation to Christ. I didn't want her to repeat what she has already studies just last year. I also didn't want her to miss the rest of history. The seventh grade Social Studies for Ace consists of learning about various careers. Since that is only a semester long, I knew I could fit in the rest of history this semester, and then begin studying careers and state history next semester.
Laura likes reading biographical stories about great Christians and missionaries. I think she is going to love this unit.
