Rainy Day Excursion

It has been raining for several days in a row.  With extra children at our house, and the weather not being very cooperative, I decided yesterday that cabin fever had set in.  I loaded up the van and we headed to the nearest play-place.  Burger King was in the town where we were running errands.

We bought lunch and let the kids run out their energy for an hour or so.  It was nice to watch them having fun without feeling like they were gonna make a mess.  Just going somewhere different is always a plus.

Meanwhile, I got to visit with my older two daughters.  It was so nice to relax and have conversation with people over the age of 5!

I will say that Laura and Jasmine have been wonderful helpers with the little ones.  I find myself exhausted anyway.  I totally underestimated the amount of additional work I would have with two extra toddlers.  I went yesterday and bought easy, probably totally unhealthy food: Chicken nuggets, cans of beef stew and ravioli, pizza rolls, etc.  I don't like a steady diet of these foods, but having time to make homemade foods just isn't happening.  I'm exhausted by the end of the day.

This time will pass and I'll be able to go back to my routines and, hopefully, my walking schedule that I was doing so well with.  I get frustrated some days that I can't do those things right now, but I also know that I am helping out family in an emergency situation.
