Unexpected

I have been valiantly attempting to catch up on blog posts after a very busy couple of weeks. Today was the day... Or so I thought. Then the phone rang this morning very early.

My sister, brother-in-law, and nephew were sleeping this morning when a neighbor began pounding on their door. The parsonage they live in was on fire.  They hurried to safety, and watched as firemen worked to stop the blaze.  The fire was put out, but their home is gone.

The fire marshall told my brother-in-law that if five more minutes had passed before they got out, they would have died.

While my sister is shaken up, our entire family is praising God that no one was hurt.  The damage and loss of material things is nothing compared to having our loved ones alive and well.

God has his own plans. I've already seen a relationship begin to be restored. Somehow, when a tragedy happens, even tall obstacles are surmountable.
