A Day at the Park

When family gets together after not seeing each other for awhile, it can be a beautiful thing.  We spent the day at the park with family of my step-daughter that she doesn't get to see on a regular basis.  The result was so much fun!

How often do fifteen and seventeen year old children get to just be free to be kids?  How often do they get to walk trails and play on a giant hill and swing?  Most have outgrown that, or at least think that they have.  But, for these kids, it was a special time.  They were raised together for years, and then separated by circumstances beyond their control.  Getting together and just being kids is a special treat for them.

My younger girls even got to enjoy the park with a friend.  They LOVED the giant hill, and took turns rolling down it.
We pretty much had the park to ourselves, so the big kids could play on the equipment without fear of getting in the way of younger children.
Even Dad and Megan had a blast playing and being together.
I took so many pictures of the kids having fun.  It was worth it to see these children laughing.
No matter what God has in store for us, I am so grateful that He is blessing us with healing and laughter for our souls.
