Views of Fall Break

Fall Break was a week of no school, a sick mommy, and just some relaxed fun.

To keep the girls occupied during a visit to Great-Grandma's, I found a Shrinky-dink kit at Walmart.  If you don't know what Shrinky-dinks are, then you would fit in well with my children.  They had never heard of them either.  However, they did have fun coloring the little pieces of plastic.
It took two days before we took the time to actually bake them in the oven.  Laura was thrilled to watch them curl and shrink.
The rest of Fall Break was just as undemanding.  The girls had more time than they planned with a mom on the couch feeling horrible.  Laura was wonderful at keeping Megan occupied, though.

They played outside with toys when the weather cooperated.
They watched movies and TV shows with Dad.  He introduced Laura to the show Mythbusters.
I was thoroughly impressed with how well the girls kept themselves busy over break without needing to be entertained much.  Being sick, I often just turned on a cartoon and laid down.  However, they would often go in the other room to play, leaving the cartoon running for no one.  So, I ended up turning the television off most of the time.
Despite the fact that Jasmine only had one day for Fall Break last week, she did take the time to enjoy some down time.
