As scheduled, this is our fall break. Unlike the public school, and more poor step-daughter, who only get Friday off for Fall Break, we are taking the whole week. I guess God really wants me to rest, because I woke up this morning feeling horrible with a flu of some sort. Congestion, ear ache, coughing, watery eyes... the whole nine yards seem to have hit me. I probably wouldn't have been very productive trying to homeschool anyway. If I have to be ill, this would be the week. I hope to improve quickly though so that I can enjoy the break.
Laura and Megan spent the day doing little. Megan watched the television that I haven't been letting her watch a whole lot of. I did pop in an Adventures in Odyssey so that it wasn't a complete "brain turning to mush" endeavor.
Laura was content to help wait on me and to play outside in the brisk autumn air. She is usually such a self-content child. She doesn't often need to be entertained. She is quite capable of finding her own entertainment when she is on ion own. She has developed quite a rich imagination. I attribute part of that to having time on her own, with her own thoughts, without constant peer influence.
I am looking forward to a relaxing fall break.
