3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth
Psalm 127:3-4
My husband is an amazing father. He has always been a patient, devoted, and loving father... even before He committed his life to Christ. Since then, however, my husband has turned into something even more precious... A Godly Father!
I am so blessed to be able to give my children the treasure of a Godly father. He doesn't look at my oldest two and see his step-daughters. He just sees his daughters, the gifts God placed in his life when they were 5 and 7. He sees our family as a unit God put together.
My husband lives his life for God. He has been an amazing example to our daughters of the kind of man they should marry one day. He's humble and gracious and hard working. He has shown, by his example, the importance of serving God. It is a weekly thing for my husband to work his scheduled Saturday night/Sunday morning shift. Getting off work about 5 am, he'll come home and sleep for a few hours. Then, he is up and we are off to church. At church, my husband will help teach children, play occasionally on the worship team, and act as a board member. He has even occasionally preached. Then, when church is over, he'll come home and sleep another few hours, then is off to work in the afternoon. This is definitely a father that loves the Lord and will sacrifice to he in God's House. The testimony of seeing their tired father enthusiastically go to church is deeply impacting for my children. Because of this, the older ones have never really attempted to skip church because, after watching their dad, their reasons are just not very solid.
God has blessed our lives immensely by placing this wonderful man as the head of our home. He loves just being home, surrounded by his family. He commonly says he is a very rich man. He was not talking about money.
