We were on our way home from a meeting at church. We had left to quickly hurry home before the storm, which was building quickly, hit. Well... we were too late. The wind picked up suddenly, grabbing the dirt in the field with it. We couldn't see to drive. I pulled over, thinking it would pass quickly. It didn't.
The pictures don't do justice. I've driven through many storms, but I've never been cut off by one before. It was... interesting. The kids were a little frightened when the 70-80 mile wind gusts shook the van. We ended up turning back and going to our Pastor's home to wait out the worst of it. We did hear of numerous tornadoes a couple hours later.
