Laura has been reading a LOT lately... all on her own.
I bought her a pack of American Girls books from a yard sale for 75 cents. It was her favorite American Girl, Samantha. She read them all in a couple days. Since then she has been to the library a few times. She has read at least three more books in as many days. Right now she is reading The Boxcar Children. It was read to her in second grade. She remembered it, and wanted to read it on her own.
I'm trying to record her reading on her fifth grade book list, but I have missed a couple. She's just reading them too fast. However, I'm going to let her read to her heart's content. A few months ago, she was resisting reading. Now, in her last week of school before we break for summer, she is devouring books.
