January has set in with all it's cold sameness. Christmas is over. Valentines hasn't happened. Tax returns are still a bit away (much needed tax returns). School is trudging forward. Laura is cheating by reading ahead in her books. I want to tell her to stay on target, but I just can't. That is something I did all the time.
We color, do school, read, watch Netflix, and try to stay warm. We play board games and I research on the computer and try to plan the next school year in my mind.
Laura played with her sewing project that she got for Christmas. She enjoyed designing and making a dress for a doll.
I think we spent two days this week in our pajamas. Too cold to go outside, we huddled with blankets and tried to keep busy. Yes, we have heat, but it still just seems so cold. Looking outside at the snow does not bring a sense of warmth to my soul.
But this month will pass and spring will come. January always seems to drag. The only cure is to keep busy, stay warm, and wait it out.
