Charlotte Mason advocates teaching your child lifeskills. Well, as I'm slowly preparing and learning Charlotte Mason methods, principles, and techniques, I saw an opportunity this morning. Instead of cold cereal, we decided to make bacon and eggs for breakfast. I fried the bacon. Laura wanted to make the eggs herself.
With just supervision, I let her crack them, mix them, and cook them. Yes, I helped by adding some spice. However, she did an amazing job. The eggs were very good. In the past I might have put Laura off because I could cook them faster. I'm glad that I let her do it. It is a definite boost to her confidence level.
