Jasmine and Megan bummed around too. They watched movies. We played games. We basically just tried to enjoy the time with no schedules, no school, and relaxation.
Our game shelf has grown over Christmas. We spent a lot of time the last couple weeks playing games. Our favorites are Aggravation and Apples to Apples. I think Apples to Apples is a great homeschool game. My nine year old is learning lots of new words by playing. She doesn't always know who some of the people are, but she does well at guessing what the judge will pick anyway.Of course, there was laundry to do. It takes a bit longer to do laundry when you are air drying most of the clothes. However, I am beginning to like air drying clothes. The clothes are staying nice, there's no static, and they just seem cleaner. I still dry some things, but that is mostly because I don't have the space to air dry a bunch at once. If I use my dryer it is for towels or jeans... especially if we are running short on these items. I try not to have to use my dryer, but it does happen.
Tomorrow it is back to school. My oldest will begin her last semester in High School. The new program I have for Laura is ready, except one thing that I will begin in a couple weeks. I don't want to start too much at once and overwhelm my daughter.
Tasha won't begin her new semester for a week or two. Her stuff hasn't come in yet. The lady in charge of it was waiting until after the first of the year to order the new curriculum. In the meantime Tasha will work on her science and do some reading.
A part of me is glad to be going back to the routine of school. I think that this break was wonderful, but I feel like the kids need things to do to keep them occupied. They are starting to get bored.
My husband has been working at his new job for a couple days, and we are starting to adjust. I am hoping it will be easier to keep the kids quiet when they are occupied with school work than it has been with them playing. My husband is wonderful and hasn't complained, but I feel like I'm continually shushing the girls. It is not easy to keep a two year old quiet.
Next semester... Here we come!
