Ice Cancels Schools

For our public schooled children, there was no school today.  Ice is coating everything, making driving dangerous.  We've already heard of a couple accidents.

We stayed home in the warmth and safety of our home.  I even called my oldest off work, which I don't like doing.  So far, the only thing that was disrupted was our internet for awhile.  Our electricity is working.

I went outside and took some pictures.  The ice may be dangerous for driving (or walking), but it is beautiful.

Here's a bush in our back yard.

My back railing is a bit icy.

Look at this long icicle hanging from our garage!

My daughter's old bike was left outside.  Now it is coated in ice.

Ice hangs from everything, including our house.  Unlike the ice storm from a little over a year ago, this one doesn't have tree branches crashing onto our roof.  We haven't lost power (and I'm hoping we don't).  It's just VERY slick.

Tasha and Laura actually didn't seem to mind that they had school.  They did a full day each.
