Harvest Fest 2009

Our church held its annual Harvest Fest yesterday. We had horse rides, a hay ride, several inflatable bounce houses, games and food. We ended the evening with a puppet show performed by the amazing Crossworks Ministries out of Rensselaer, Indiana.

Here's Megan on the obstacle course inflatable. She needed some help with this one. She isn't tall enough to go through it alone. Here Megan sat on the horse. She wasn't ready for a ride yet.

Laura jumped with all the other children. She had so much fun.

Jasmine is a horse nut. Having a horse around excited her. She rode him, but I didn't get a picture.

The hayride was only a few city blocks. However, Laura and my nephew Kaden were excited to go.

Tasha and her friend Cody got to help supervise the bounce houses. When there was slow moments the teens jumped in and had fun themselves.

Face painting is always a favorite!

Jasmine is supervising a bounce house here. I think she liked climbing.

Megan finally rode the horse with her Uncle Justin supervising.

Laura took a moment to get a quick picture then she was off for then next adventure.

Kim painted faces for awhile. Megan waited patiently while her sis painted a rainbow on her cheek.

Daddy helped Megan into one of the bounce houses.

Yeah, she's having fun.

Our church is trying to make this a yearly tradition. It's an awesome way to reach out to the community with love. We don't ask for any money. This year we were nervous. Last year we used a local gymnasium. However, that gym was under construction this year. The only other option was at the local high school. However, it is located out in the country. We wanted to hold this in our community where people could walk over, not have to drive.
We decided to plan to have it at our church and pray the weather would cooperate. It was a week of prayer as the forecasts called for chilly, rainy weather. However, the day dawned sunny. The temperature reached above sixty degrees. God worked marvelously. The rain, when it finally showed, started after everything was done and taken down.
It was an amazing, God-blessed day!
