The First Science Experiment - Layers and Animals

Laura gets the warm tap water. The pennies get warmed...
Then cooled.

Now she's just avoiding the picture. LOL.

Here she writes out her experiment on paper.

Laura performed her first science experiment. She's studying the Arctic Tundra. This experiment was on how layers keep animals warm. She had to warm pennies in tap water and then cool them seperately. One was wrapped in layers of tissue and one wasn't. The one with the tissue didn't get as cool. I know it may seem like common sense, but it adds something tangible to the lesson. Laura compared it to wearing a winter coat. I told her that actually it was like wearing several jackets with a coat on top.
