Sword Ceremony for Teachers

This past Sunday Morning we had an Awards Ceremony at church. Sunday School Teachers and Children's church workers were recognized and honored. We received certificates. A couple students were recognized as Students of the Year. Ironically, Megan was honored. She isn't even two yet, but she is very happy. She has no problem worshipping and clapping. We were told that she truly inspires the worship team somedays.
There was also a Sword Ceremony. The Pastor called each of his teachers up to the front of the church with their bibles. He placed his sword in our bibles one at a time and prayed for us. It was very impactful and moving. The symolism alone touched me.
I almost cried when my girls, Kim and Tasha, received certificates and signed a covenant about teaching God's word. My girls are young, and yet they do a lot of work with children every Sunday morning during Children's Church. The kids respond to my girls because they are young and energetic and full of passion about following Chirst.
I was a very proud mom.
And no, we are not all short. Our Pastor is just very tall.

Megan gets a Student of The Year Award for being an inspiration.
