New math ordered

I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a new math book, considering I already bought one. So I ordered the Abeka Arithmetic book for grade 2. It will take about a week to get here, but that's alright. We are on Fall Break for the next couple days. I can work with Laura on math facts, money, and time until it gets here. She will work on those things in her book, but it doesn't hurt to learn it ahead of time.
Laura finished reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. We have to find a new read alone book for her. I kind of want a say. I don't want it to be fluff...like the Hannah Montana book she read in 10 minutes a couple days ago. I want it to be something with substance. We'll probably look around. She wants to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think that might be a good pick. I'm not sure of the reading level yet, but if she's interested in the story that is half the battle.
We start the digestive system in science next week.
We are halfway through with Om-Kas-Toe. I am really enjoying this book. I thought it would be boring, but it really is adventurous. Of course, as I am reading it aloud to Laura, she keeps laughing at me because I am still fighting a head cold. She laughs when I mess up a pronunciation. It's ironic that my mess ups let me know she is truly paying attention.
