Having older sisters has benefits. One of them is help with school projects. Megan had a science project. She was to go outside, collect different kinds of rocks, and look at the differences in them. Laura, who loves geology and earth science, was a perfect helper.
She walked around the neighborhood, looking for different colors of rocks amidst the gravel. They found a few pretty treasures.
Each rock had to be scrutinized. It was so wonderful to see them working together, older teaching younger.
Megan had to show off some of her selections.
Laura even brought out one of her favorite rocks that she had found and kept a couple years ago. It was a rock with a fossil imprint in it. Megan thought that was awesome!
They even brought them in and lined them up on a towel. Then, they could take their time. Watching Laura teach Megan about crystals in the rocks and how some are formed by pressure and some by volcanoes proved to me that Laura is learning a lot, and is now able to teach some of it to her little sis.
