Attending The Sound of Music

Last night my children and I joined many family members at a local high school auditorium to watch this year's summer theater production.  This year the local theater group put on the musical, The Sound of Music.  It was a night of joy and pride as my sister, Kendal, starred as Maria.

Theater is something our family enjoys.  My oldest was in many production throughout school, including having the lead in Oklahoma.  While not all of us are born actors or actresses, we do enjoy watching.  My sister was wonderful last night.  The children that were cast were charming and talented.  There were three members of our church cast in major roles, so we all came to one of the shows to show our support.

Kendal, my sister, is a very talented singer.  She sings on our worship team at church.  Music has been a major part of her life.  She is a huge influence in the lives of my daughters.  She is more like an older sister to my oldest daughters, since she was only six years old when I had my oldest.  Her impact for the Lord in their lives has been huge.

Watching the musical was so fun!  Kendal and the entire cast gave a HUGE performance.  They worked hard for two months, and the results were stellar.  Every person that came gave rave reviews, calling it one of the best performances they had seen in years.   I agree.
