Laura is taking part in a three church, local teen mission this week. Called simply Teen Mission, the youth from the three churches spend the time helping out in the local area. However, the youth don't come home. Evenings are filled with worship and time in the Word.
Laura and her big sister, Kim, are both taking part. Kim is working in a leadership capacity, and isn't always with Laura. Laura was very nervous about going, since she doesn't know many people. But her love of mission work, her curiosity to try her hand at missions, overwhelmed her fears.
Kim is supposed to take some pictures (like the one above) and send the to me to keep me updated. I'm very excited for both my daughters and proud of them for volunteering to serve Christ in the mission field... even if it is a local mission field. We are to be lights in our own communities. I pray that this mission represents Christ in our area.
