Tomorrow is the first day of school. I decided a while back to have half days till mid-August for Laura, while still doing a full schedule with Megan. This way I can take more breaks throughout the school year. By doing half-days, I can ease Laura into Creation to Christ from Heart of Dakota. Then, in August, we can go dive-in full force. I was going to do a five day schedule, but my older daughter has physical therapy on Fridays. Until she is done, we will probably stick with the four day plan.
Planning for half days has been a cinch. Math and reading will be done daily. The rest will be done according to the schedule in the planner. Heart of Dakota splits the subjects up into two sections, Learning through History and Learning the Basics. I plan to do one side one day and the next side the next day. I don't expect it to take Laura very long, but she will be getting back into the groove of school. Plus, with as hot as it has been, we can spend some time out of the oppressive heat. Then, when we're done, jump in the pool if the weather is good.
That's the plan. Now... here's hoping it all works.
