A Day With The Girls
My oldest daughter had an appointment today with her endocrinologist (diabetes specialist). We had to take about an hour trip. My husband picked up some extra work this morning, so most of the kids went with me. We had a great time together.
While my oldest was in her appointment, I took the younger ones to a resale shop we like. It's a bit more pricey than the local Goodwill, but the clothes nearly always look like brand new. I found two beautiful skirts for Megan; and a dress with leggings and a pretty black skirt for Laura. I've been buying more dressy clothes for the girls lately. God has put it on my heart to let my girls be girls. I have fallen in love with girls being feminine and lovely. I've even recently bought a couple new (used) skirts for myself.
The girls and I went shopping after that, and had a wonderful dinner together. It was nice to get to spend time with each other. Kim had a successful appointment. We played around with the hats in one store. Kim even bought one that totally fit her unique sense of style. We had a relaxing day. It has been awhile since we've been able to just go out and enjoy ourselves.
The highlight of the day was that I got to spend time with my daughters. There were no friends. I usually don't mind, but once in awhile it is nice to not have to share. We didn't have any certain agenda after my daughter's appointment, so we just got to be together. By the time we were on our way home, Megan was falling asleep in her booster seat.
