Mission Field Challenges

Isn't it amazing how, the day after I change the title of my blog to My Home Mission Field, I get tested immediately?!  I should have expected that the fire would come.  I guess I just hoped that, with my new focus, things would run smooth.  Yeah, Right... NOT.

First there was a battle of wills with the 18 year old.  Of course, a day later she was fine.  I was tense and a bit upset, but she was bouncy and acted like she had no clue that we'd even had a difference of opinion.

Then there was helping my sister move.  My home mission field took me out of my home for a couple days.  In fact, I think I spent more time in my mini-van than in my home.  However, mission accomplished.  My sister is moved into her new house.

Then there was the yard sales.  It is a lot of work to hold a yard sale.  Didn't seem worth the 10 bucks I made.  In fact, I think I spent that in gas driving around to other people's yard sales.  However, I priced things to get rid of them, not to retire.  Again, Mission accomplished.  The things that didn't sell are being given to charity.  Cleaned out my basement a bit of baby clothes.  Plus, while I didn't find all that I wanted, I did find a few books to use for homeschool.  They were mostly stories, but Laura and I will read them eventually.

My Home Mission Field hasn't changed.  My home may have been neglected for a couple days.  Homeschooling stopped.  Laundry didn't get washed.  My husband stepped up and babysat the toddler.  However, God graced us anyway with His love.  My 18 year old and I shopped the yard sales together and got through another mother/daughter tense time.  The laundry is slowly being caught up.  We are refreshed and ready for another week of homeschooling.  My mission field awaits.
