Finding top notch customer service today is difficult. Recently I had an amazing experience (two actually) with the homeschooling curriculum provider, Heart of Dakota.
I have ordered off and on from Heart of Dakota for years. I discovered them just a couple of years into my homeschooling journey. I would use their materials for awhile, then switch for various reasons that had nothing to do with the company. Once was so my older two daughters could use the same curriculum, when one of them was using a local private school as a cover school. Another time I thought I could save some money by putting together materials myself (silly me). I have even used something else for a season when our lives were chaotic and I needed the children to be independent while I fixed some things.
I know that Heart of Dakota's customer service is top-notch. When I was ordering for my high school student a couple of years ago as she was coming to us from public school and then private school, Carrie Austin, the owner, was very helpful in giving me guidance on the message board.
Over the last two weeks, I have once again been impressed by the personal touch of Heart of Dakota. First, I ordered the Bigger Hearts for His Glory program for my youngest. Delivery was quick. As I was going through my guide, however, I noticed an error in the units. I emailed the company. Within a couple of days the guide was replaced and the old one sent back, at their cost, so they could return it to the publisher.
Then I had a difficulty in buying next year's materials for my older daughter. I called and left a message. Within 24 hours, the company returned my call and fixed the ordering problem. I actually felt bad because the call came just as I had entered the car wash. On my end, it was loud, and I was afraid the sweet lady wouldn't be able to hear me clearly. However, she was funny and so very nice. The order was placed very painlessly.
I have been continually impressed with the message board for Heart of Dakota. I can search numerous questions and often find the answers have already been answered by the owner or her sister. If I can't find an answer, I feel free to ask, and have always received answers quickly.
Heart of Dakota is a rich, wonderful program. Quality customer service feels like a dying trait in this day and age, and yet Heart of Dakota has more than delivered. Thank You Heart Of Dakota team! And thank you, Julie, for being so wonderful over the phone and over emails!
