My day began by getting my youngest ready for church. My husband had been called into work. When I went out to leave for church, my doors were frozen. After I began driving, I discovered my washers were frozen. When I hit black ice on the interstate, I knew it as going to turn into rough traffic conditions.
I trudged along despite the fact that seeing was becoming difficult with all the salt and sludge thrown onto my windshield by other vehicles. My fifteen year old made a game out of counting the slide-offs. Finally, I took an exit and cleaned off my window at a gas station.
I searched for an alternative route, not daring to enter the highway once agin. I found this:
It was pretty, but slick. We were VERY late for church.
After church, I had no desire to get back onto the highway. Instead, my two younger daughters and I did some out of character stuff for us. We went to the mall and other stores. Then, we went to eat.
Laura tried on this cute leather jacket. She liked it, but the price is not in our range.
I couldn't eat at the restaurant since everything they have has gluten inside. The girls enjoyed it, and I enjoyed them.
Megan came home and worked on a craft we had purchased.
It was a rough start but a good day. Mother/daughter bonding time made up for the scary drive on ice in traffic.
