Summer plans are slowly emerging. The oldest two girls have a missions trip in June to Alaska. The youngest will get to attend VBS. We also often participate in the library summer reading program and the free summer movies at the local movie theater.
My youngest tried out for a kid part in the local community theater. She is excited to be able to participate again.
Summer is a time I like slowing down, focusing on a couple personal goals, and getting my life de-stressed and de-cluttered. This summer is no exception. I plan to focus on God, my health, and simplifying my life.
After next year I will be losing another student as my daughter will be graduating from our little homeschool. She actually wants to work over the summer on her studies and graduate early. I've encouraged this because she is ready. She is eighteen, is working, is saving money and beginning to pay some of her own way. She was held back in public school way back in first grade, so she is older than most seniors. However, that extra time to grow and mature has been very beneficial after having a some obstacles to overcome. I see her maturing into a fine, God-loving young lady.
I want to plan lots of family time this summer. They are all growing up so quickly. I want to cherish the time I have with them while they are here.
I am curious about what God has planned for our lives this summer. Last summer took an unexpected turn when my daughter ended up nearly dying from a bad surgery. This year she is getting married. That sounds a whole lot more joyous.
