Date Night!!

When we "go out", we enjoy it because it's a rare treat for us.  On Thursday, my husband decided he wanted to take me out to a nice restaurant for Mother's Day. However, he works Sunday (Unfortunately). We knew the weekend was going to be busy.  I told him we couldn't afford it, but he just grinned.  Then he reminded me of the gift cards he had received for Christmas.

We still had the Outback Steakhouse gift card.

So... I dressed up, put my oldest daughter in charge, and gladly went on a date with my husband.

It was such a wonderful evening!

For us, having a date night at a nice steakhouse isn't common.  In fact, date nights aren't common for us at all!  We try to celebrate the big things, such as anniversaries and birthdays.  But, sometimes that celebration is nothing more than coffee together at the park.  We want to enjoy our marriage, not just feel as if we are surviving together.

It's sometimes difficult to take the time just for ourselves with busy schedules and several children still at home.  And yet, it's important.  The children will one day grow up.  They will begin their lives.  I cherish the time they are young, but know my relationship with my husband is vitally important.
