Do you pray for your children? Over the last year or two I have felt such a deep urge to pray for my children like never before. I pray for their safety, their health, their walk with the Lord, their spouses or future spouses.
Last Wednesday, we had a really nice day. We went about an hour south to shop. My daughter and her boyfriend met us down there. We renewed our Sam's Club membership, went out to eat, and enjoyed time together.
My daughter followed us home, delivering some supplies with her car. When she left at eleven that night, I didn't expect the turn that was coming.
On the way home, Tasha's boyfriend hit a patch of black ice. The car spun around, hit the snow on the side of the road, and then flipped. The car landed back on its tires.
The phone call from my daughter's boyfriend was frantic. My husband and I left immediately to get to them. I prayed the entire several miles to the accident scene.
God protected them. They are sore, bruised, and shaken up. But they are alive with no serious injuries. For that alone, I praise the Lord and thank Him.
It only takes a moment for an accident to happen. To me, it takes a lot more faith to just hope my children will be okay than to pray and place them in the hands of my Heavenly Father.
