The Flu Strikes

It began a couple days after Christmas.  Megan had no sooner stated that her tummy hurt when she was rushing to the bathroom, throwing up her lunch.  It then passed to the college girl, home on break, to me on Sunday.

When I finally began to heal from the stomach flu I was hit with severe congestion and coughing.  Here it is, Wednesday, and I'm still lounging on the couch, feeling horrible.

School was supposed to start back tomorrow, but that may not happen now.  I haven't made schedules yet.  My chest is burning, and I still have no appetite.

While my waistline could use the reduction in food, I have forced myself to eat small meals so I can take cold medicine without irritating my still sensitive tummy.  I'm drinking lots of fluids.

The Daniel Fast I usually begin on the first of the year had been put on hold.  That frustrated me, as I love intimacy with the Lord, even while I dread the caffeine withdrawal from giving up coffee.  But coffee isn't my main drink of choice at the moment.

Illness happens.  Homeschool can wait a few days.  For now, I'll stay lounging on the couch.
