For a couple of months my Laura has had a foot problem. The bone on the side of her foot has been swollen and painful. I took her to the doctor awhile back. He thought it was a swollen, inflamed bursa sac. He gave her a steroid injection in the area (which was painful). It didn't help.
When the flu hit our house after Christmas, Dad took Laura back to the doctor. While they were there getting treated for the flu, Dad had her foot rechecked. This time the doctor referred her to a specialist.
My daughter went today to the specialist appointment. He diagnosed it as a bone sliver and put my daughter into a walking cast. So... For the next 7 to 9 weeks, my daughter will be hobbling around. We are praying this helps.
For now, Laura is not complaining. I have a feeling that, after a short time, it will be an inconvenience for a very active 12 year old.
